Duncan Ambassadors and eleven Gare seminar directors throughout the UK. Only
Cromartie can offer the official manufacturers qualification courses with
worldwide recognition.
All Cromartie Hobby Ceramics staff are also fully trained in the use of
Duncan and Gare products.
Training is a must for all who wish
to succeed so take the opportunity to learn about new products, update
your existing knowledge, gain credits towards the Duncan and Gare Awards

University Teacher's Certification Course
"ESSENTIALS" - Six
one-day courses for teachers and anyone wishing to gain in depth knowledge of
Duncan products. Individual days can be attended if desired but all 6 parts must
be completed to achieve Duncan Certified Teacher status.
GARE
BASIC INGREDIENTS/TEACHER'S CERTIFICATION SEMINARS
"BASIC
INGREDIENTS" - A two day seminar for anyone
wishing to gain in depth knowledge of Gare products.
N.B.
It is necessary to attend an additional three day seminar to achieve Gare
Certified Teacher status.
DUNCAN
UNIVERSITY WORKSHOPS & ONE-DAY COURSES
GARE OFFICIAL
WORKSHOPS & ONE-DAY SEMINARS
Short workshops and one-day courses and
seminars authorised by Duncan and Gare. These
are open to anyone with an interest in ceramics.
Certified Duncan/Gare Teachers will gain one credit towards the
Duncan/Gare Awards Programme providing that the ware used is cast from a
Duncan/Gare mould.
OTHER
SPECIAL INTEREST COURSES, SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS
These are open to anyone with an
interest in ceramics and may feature the use of Duncan or Gare colour and
various techniques.

Both Duncan and Gare
believe very strongly that everyone who participates in their Educational
Services Program deserves to be rewarded for their accomplishments, time,
progress and expense. Therefore special Awards Programs have been designed to
ensure that an award is received after every official Duncan Course or Gare
Seminar.
The Duncan University Curriculum
Awards
Certified Duncan Teacher Award
After you complete each part of the
Duncan University "Essentials" Course, you will receive a Duncan
"Certificate of Achievement," signed by your teacher, stating that you
have successfully completed that part. If you successfully complete the 6 days
Essentials Course, you will earn the distinction of "Certified Duncan
Teacher" (CDT) and receive a Certified Duncan Teacher diploma, a lapel pin
with the CDT logo and an Award Letter from the Duncan University Manager.
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST BE A
CERTIFIED DUNCAN TEACHER TO QUALIFY FOR THE FOLLOWING AWARDS
Duncan University Shield Club Award
Any Certified Duncan Teacher (CDT),
who has attended and received credits for 10 One Day Duncan Courses, including
retakes of the Duncan University Certified Teacher - Essentials Course,
qualifies for membership of the Duncan Shield Club. Membership is recognised by
a Shield Club Diploma with seal, a Lapel Pin with the Shield Club logo and an
Award Letter from the Duncan University Manager.
Duncan University Erma Duncan Award
A beautiful Erma Duncan porcelain
plate, which captures the famous water colour work created by Erma Duncan in
1909, is available to each Certified Duncan Teacher (CDT), who has
satisfactorily completed 25 Duncan One-Day Courses. A Lapel Pin with the Erma
Duncan logo is also available and an Award Letter will be received from Larry
Duncan.
Duncan University Golden Achievement
Award
This honour distinguishes Certified
Duncan Teachers who have completed 50 Duncan One-Day Courses. Those who attain
this status are eligible for a Golden Achievement Pin and receive an Award
Letter from Larry Duncan.
Duncan University Emerald
Achievement Award
Completion of 75 One-Day Courses
gains eligibility for an Emerald Achievement Pin and an Award Letter from Larry
Duncan.
Duncan University Diamond
Achievement Award
The ultimate award - for completion
of 100 One-day Courses! You will be eligible for a special Diamond Achievement
Award and will receive an Award Letter from Larry Duncan.
N.B. Certified Duncan Teachers who
attend Duncan One-Day Courses will receive one credit towards their Duncan
Awards and a Wooden Award Board. Persons who are not Certified Duncan Teachers
will receive a Duncan "Certificate of Achievement."
The Gare Award Program
After you complete the Gare 2 day
Basic Ingredients Program, you will receive a Certificate, signed by your
teacher.
In order to qualify as a Certified
Teacher you must complete the Basic Ingredients and three selected one-day
workshops consisting of firing, brushstroke techniques, demonstrating and the
test for teacher certification. Your acceptance by Gare will qualify you to
receive a beautiful Diploma and a Certified Gare Teacher Lapel Pin.

N.B. If you have completed the 2 day Basic Ingredients, you will receive one
credit towards the Gare Awards for each Gare Workshop attended. Persons who have
not completed the Basic Ingredients will receive a Gare "Certificate of
Achievement."
