Duncan University Teacher's Certification CourseS ARE HELD AT VARIOUS STUDIO LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

ESSENTIALS - Parts 1 - 6

Individual days can be attended if desired but all 6 parts must be completed to achieve Duncan Certified Teacher status. 

Part 1 - "Earth & Fire" 

Featuring: Clay colouring and sculpting, slip casting and greenware, slip marbleising, mould use and care, and firing.  

Part 2 - "Earth & Colour" 

Featuring: The colour wheel, acrylic & fired colour introduction, colour mixing and tinting, contemporary design and stencils.    

Part 3 - "Provincial Colour" 

Featuring: Underglazes (Covercoats & Translucent EZ One Strokes), sgraffito, French Dimensions and banding.  

Part 4 - "Primitive Colour"

Featuring: Exotic glazes; River Rock, Crystals & Crackles, Concepts, Stonewashed & Courtyard Art glazes. Includes the popular "spritzing" technique.  

Part 5 - "Seasonal Colour"

Featuring: Glaze layering, Mother-of-Pearl & Gold overglazes, Majolica, Envision Glaze, Mask'n'Peel and Wax Resist.   

Part 6 - "Acrylic Colour"

Featuring: Acrylic brushstrokes, Quik-Crackle, Ultra Metallics, Drybrushing, No-fire Snow, Glitzy Sealers and antiquing with Translucent Stains.
